There was only one problem: the team couldnt move the countertop via stairway or elevator due to its overwhelming size and weight. After much consideration, the team decided a crane was the best option for safely lifting the large countertop to the fifth floor. To begin, Morreys Contracting built a safe crate so the countertop would be held in a secure manner during transport. This would protect both the material on its journey upward as well as the team below. The Morreys Contracting team had to ensure the crate was structurally sound enough to crane up five floors of the building without any flex; otherwise, the granite could fall and break. The team triple checked their dimensions ensuring the granite would fit in the box, and the box would fit through the window. Shortly thereafter when the granite arrived on site, the Morreys team transferred the granite to the safe crate and secured straps on top to keep the box evenly balanced while in the air. Ready for liftoff. Up on the fifth floor of the office building, Sachse Construction had removed a section of the window and installed a temporary door through which the team would receive the countertop. When the countertop reached the fifth floor, the team placed it onto support boxes atop heavy-duty furniture carts courtesy of Morreys Contracting. These supports were built one-inch higher than the receiving window ledge so the team could easily rest the countertop on the carts before moving it into its final place. In the end, the countertop was successfully installed to its forever home on the fifth floor. The Morreys Contracting team proved a daunting operation can be performed smoothly and safely through proper planning and close attention to the details.96'
