b'DONT HIDE BEHIND E-MAILAs stay-at-home orders were put into effect due to the coronavirus pandemic, colleagues across Michigan needed to find new norms for daily work, including the morning commute (otherwise known as walking downstairs), daily communications, and project progression.Due to the collaborative nature of the Enterprise, department meetings quickly transitioned from in-office meetings to face-to-face video chats via platforms such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom. With the uncertainty of the pandemic, everyone found they craved community and connection more than ever before. In addition to video meetings, Enterprise team members found comfort through virtual team bonding events, happy hours, best mug competitions, and even scavenger hunts with family members at home happily joining in on the fun.Working from home with the responsibilities of life all around us, it would have been easier for leadership to keep Enterprise team members updated through quick e-mail communications. Instead, team members were brought together through company-wide Zoom meetings for weekly updates as well as a chance to connect with team members from other departments. Traditionally, this Rayism encourages our team members to connect through face-to-face interactions rather than e-mail; however, this year took on a whole new meaning in which our team utilized video technologies to support this effort.Later, as the Enterprise prepared to safely return to daily life at the office, it was apparent that seeing the smiling faces of our colleagues reminded us that we could all get through tough times together. We are grateful our team members took the opportunity to connect on a deeper level rather than to hide behind e-mail.83'
